Step 1: Project management.

Define project: define a new project or select from existing projects.

New project: new a project.

Save project: save the current project configurations.

Edit project: edit the project name.

Remove project: remove current project from the project list.

Export project as ... : Export the current project to an external project configuration .wpp file.

Load project from ... : Load an external project configuration .wpp file to the project list.

Local root folder: All HTML files to be protected should be on the local computer, and under the "Local Root Folder". After protection, the software will generate two files: login.htm and loginuser.js. These two files will be placed in the "Local Root Folder".

Save backup copies in following folder: After protection, all HTML files will be encrypted, and you can not edit it with HTML editor anymore. With this option, the software will backup copies in the defined folder.

Restore from backup copies: Restore HTML files from backup copies.

Be attention: Please backup the HTML files carefully before the protection, such as in a separate directory or a separate computer. The Web Password Wizard will encrypt the HTML file, and make it un-editable. Without backup, you may ruin your design.

Step 2: Define user groups and edit user/password list of each group.

Define user groups: manage user groups.

Add group: add a user group.

Edit group: edit group name and description.

Delete group: delete current user group.

Delete all groups: delete all user groups in the group list.

Add user: add a user to the current group.

Edit user: edit the selected user.

Delete user: delete the selected user form current group.

Delete all: delete all users in current group.

Update Wizard: This wizard will generate user/password database file: loginuser.js, and update it on your web server:

When should you use this Wizard:

  1. Do not change the HTML files list that need protection.
  2. Do not change names of user groups, do not add/delete user groups.
  3. Only add/delete/edit valid users and passwords.

Update the database file to web server via FTP:

FTP server: the name or ip address of your ftp server.

Username and password: the login information of your ftp server.

Remote FTP Folder: remote ftp folder where the "loginuser.js" file exists.

Step 3: Selecting HTML files , setting entrance HTML file for each group.

What is an entrance HTML file: The HTML file which the user will be led to after logging in.

Set as entrance file: Set the selected HTMl file as entrance file.

Add file: Add HTML file to the current group. All HTML files should be under the Local Root Folder defined in step 1.

Add folder: Add all HTML files in the folder to current group.

Delete file: Delete selected HTML file from current group.

Delete all files: Delete all HTML files from current group.

Step 4: Options

Select color and layout style for your login page: Select a style template for your login page. You can use "Add", "Edit", "Remove" button the edit the style list, use the "Preview" button to preview the style.

When password is incorrect: What to do when the entered username and password are incorrect.

Support double bytes charset: Support Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other double bytes charset.

Last step : Protection

Protect: Click "Protect" button to password protect all HTML files. After protection, all HTML files will be encrypted, and the software will generate two files: login.htm and loginuser.js. These two files will be placed in the "Local Root Folder" defined in step 1.

login.htm: The login portal for users.

loginuser.js: The user/passwrod database file.

Preview generated login files after protection: With the option, the software will open the "Local Root Folder" after the protection.

Restore from backup copies: After protection, all HTML files will be encrypted, and you can not edit it with HTML editor anymore. This button wll restore HTML files from backup copies.

Preview: Open the generated "login.htm" file to test the protection.

View log: view the log file.

Which files should be uploaded to the web server:

1. login.htm: The login portal for users.

2. loginuser.js: The user/passwrod database file.

3. All encrypted HTML files. After protection, all HTML files will be encrypted, you should upload all protected HTML files to the web server.
