How to password protect web page in five steps?

Web Password Wizard will guide you secure your web pages in just a few clicks. Now, Let's learn how to password protect your first html file step by step.

Step 1: Project management.

There are two works in this step:

(1) Define a new project or selecting from the existing projects.

(2) Select the local root folder of your HTML files.

All HTML files to be protected should be on the local computer, and under the "Local Root Folder".

After protection, the software will generate two files: login.htm and loginuser.js. These two files will be placed in the "Local Root Folder".

After protection, the HTML files will be encrypted, and you can not edit it with HTML editor anymore. To edit the HTML files, you should restore the HTML files first.

You can restore the HTML files with the button "Restore from backup copies".

Step 2: Define user groups and edit user/password list of each group.

Step 3: Selecting HTML files , setting entrance HTML file for each group.

What is an entrance HTML file: The HTML file which the user will be led to afterlogging in.

Click "Add file" button to add HTML files to the file list, click "Set as entrance file" to set the selected file as entrance file.

Step 4: Options

Select color and layout style for login page.

Last step : Protection

Click "Protect" button to password protect HTML files.

After protection, the software will generate two files: login.htm and loginuser.js. These two files will be placed in the "Local Root Folder" defined in step 1.

loginuser.js: The user/passwrod database file.

After protection, the HTML files will be encrypted, and you can not edit it with HTML editor anymore. To edit the HTML files, you should restore the HTML files first.

After protection, you should upload below files to the web server:

1. login.htm: The login portal for users.

2. loginuser.js: The user/passwrod database file.

3. All encrypted HTML files: After protection, all HTML files will be encrypted, you should upload all protected HTML files to the web server.

Be attention: When uploading files, you can not change the file directory.
